• A Request for Proposals (RFP 2010-PCNA-01) was released on December 1, 2010.

  The Alabama Medicaid Agency selected proposals to establish pilot regional networks in the following areas:

  • Area 1 - MedNet West, Inc. –  which includes Tuscaloosa, Fayette, Pickens, Greene, Hale, Bibb counties is scheduled to begin September 1, 2011.
  • Area 2 - Care Network of East Alabama, Inc. – which includes Lee, Chambers, Tallapoosa and Macon counties, is scheduled to begin August 1, 2011.
  • Area 3 - North Alabama Community Care, Inc. – which includes Madison and Limestone counties scheduled to start up on September 1, 2011.

Initially, the regional networks will be in pilot counties covering approximately 80,000 Medicaid recipients. Each network will have an administrative entity that will contract with the state. Both the networks and the primary care providers will be paid a per member/per month (PM/PM) fee.
