Private duty nursing services in the home are covered for eligible patients who require continuous skilled nursing care. Private duty nursing services are available only to children under age 21 and must be prescribed as the result of an EPSDT screening referral. Private duty nursing services must be prior authorized by Medicaid with periodic recertification by a physician as to the continuing need for care.
