Federally qualified health centers include
certain community health centers, migrant health
centers and health care for the homeless
programs along with others centers known as
"look alike" FQHCs.
Services covered by the FQHC program include
ambulatory services provided by physicians,
physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse
midwives, clinical psychologists and clinical
social workers employed by the FQHC. At the end
of FY 2004, 18 FQHCs -- along with 111 satellite
clinics -- were enrolled as Medicaid providers.
